The Department of Basic Sciences of Physical Therapy is the first department in which the students start their journey in the Faculty of Physical Therapy, and is the largest department, as it includes

1. Specialized physiotherapy courses such as (Manual therapy, Therapeutic exercises, Tests and measurements, Electrotherapy, and Hydrotherapy, etc. ……..)
2. Medical courses such as (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, Pathology, Pharmacology, etc. …….)
3. Humanities courses such as (human rights, English, psychology, sociology, information technology, etc…….)

The department plays a major role in preparing a physiotherapist who is aware and familiar with the basic information that qualifies him and gives him the ability to understand and study advanced and specialized academic courses in the departments of physical therapy that he will join later during his academic years, which qualifies him to be a distinguished physiotherapist and keep pace with the continuous scientific progress to benefit his community and his patients.
