In line with Horus University’s commitment to supporting its community role, promoting the principle of inclusion, and empowering individuals with disabilities, and coinciding with the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities…

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at Horus University participated as an official sponsor in the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, organized by the Manar Al-Sabeel Association, in collaboration with the Directorates of Social Solidarity, Education, and Youth and Sports, held at the Engineers’ Club in Damietta.
Prof. Dr. Karim Saafan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physical Therapy, delivered the university’s speech, in which he emphasized that:
🔹 Horus University’s participation is not merely attendance but a genuine commitment to supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities.
🔹 “Accessibility is a right… and empowerment is a mission” is a steadfast vision adopted by the university in all its initiatives.
🔹 Inclusion is an act that is translated through education, rehabilitation, support, and effective community partnerships.
🔹 Individuals with disabilities are capable of learning, creativity, and success when provided with a supportive environment that matches their abilities.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Shihabi – Governor of Damietta, along with several leaders from the governorate and representatives of partner organizations. The event featured a variety of performances and artistic displays presented by children and young people with disabilities from Al-Noor and Al-Amal Schools and various rehabilitation centers, reflecting their creative abilities and positive spirit, which significantly contributed to bringing joy to all attendees.
A group of students from the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Horus University also attended the event to support the message of inclusion and affirm their role in community and humanitarian activities that enhance awareness and reinforce the values of empowerment and support for individuals with disabilities.
Horus University’s administration extends its sincere thanks to all participating entities and to our children, the champions of determination, who represent a constant source of inspiration, will, and strength.
